Dear Pathways Community,
We hope you, your family and loved ones are healthy. Due to COVID-19 and the government mandate, The Connection is closed until further notice. As a program of The Connection, this means that most of Pathways’ programs and services are also suspended, including Therapeutic Yoga, Pathways Cooks, Pathways Team SOS NJ Dragon Boat and the Pathways Women’s Cancer Teaching Project.
Despite the interruption of our programs, we want you to know that you are not alone. Members of the Pathways community are a very special group of individuals, and we are here for each other. If there is a particular individual you would like to reach out to, please email me, and I will provide you with her contact information (with prior permission of the individual). It is important that we check in on each other and remain connected.
Pathways Support
During this challenging time, Pathways continues to offer support. We care about your well-being.
- If you find that you are struggling with anxiety due to your cancer experience and the impact of COVID-19, including self-isolation, our Pathways Licensed Professional Counselor, Michele Visco is available starting Monday, March 30. Just reach out to me via email, or, call my number 908-273-4242 ext.154 and I will receive your message via my email. I will then connect you with Michele.
- Visit Pathways’ web page on The Connection website for any updates and for links to other resources such as phone and online support groups.
- Make yourself some healthy meals! Click here for simple, delicious, nutritious Pathways Cooks recipes that you may be able to make for yourself at home. If you would like additional recipes, please contact me.
- It is more important than ever to maintain physical fitness by exercising at home or walking or running outdoors, provided CDC rules regarding social distancing and the wearing of masks are followed. While The Connection building is closed, programs and support is being provided remotely. Please go to The Connection website and click on the virtual class library for exercise options. There are also live Zumba classes offered by Connection instructors! You can review the blogs on The Connection’s website. They have helpful information about coping with the situation we are all in.
We will all get through this together. I will provide you with updates as they arise, including when Pathways can begin offering all of its programs and services. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for being part of the Pathways community.
With continued wishes for your health and safety,
Lesley A. Andrews
Pathways Director
