ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

As a young student, Mimi Stella studied ballet, jazz, and modern. She took to the stage of musical theater until she heard the call of the djembe drum. A whole new world opened up for her in West African Dance. Mimi spent the next twenty years studying and teaching this cultural art form. A few years ago, she was inspired by a performance of the Masala Bhangra Workout and once again, used her inner ability of finding the down beat and rhythm to begin a new genre of teaching Masala Bhangra!

This program is made possible in part by a 2025 HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
