Campers of all ages meet at The Connection each summer for a chance to make new and exciting memories year after year. They get to reconnect, enjoy the warm summer weather, and experience all the fun camp has to offer. One way we like to keep things entertaining are our weekly themes. Campers get to dress up, act silly and go on adventures all while staying around our facility.
This year we’re trying out new themes and bringing back some old favorites. During our Camp Kickoff week, we will introduce our staff and campers to one another while they learn traditional camp songs. On Friday, we’ll really kick off summer with a Pep Rally! To celebrate the 4th of July, we’ll have a Party in the USA complete with a Patriotic Parade and a visit from the ice cream truck! Next up is Connection Carnival, one of our most popular weeks. Campers will enjoy face painting and carnival games. My personal favorite this summer is Disney Magic week. Campers will transform into pirates while they go on a treasure hunt around our building and then dress up like their favorite characters!
Half way through the summer is our Spirit Week. Campers will create team banners, have a Wacky Wednesday and participate in our first ever Color War! Next, campers will dress up as their favorite animals during our Welcome to the Jungle week and SummerFun will enjoy a teaser of the Theater camp’s production of The Lion King.
A brand new and very exciting theme this summer is Aquapalooza week! We’ll have a giant inflatable water slide and a Dive-In Movie.
As we wind down summer, our campers will learn about all the incredible Heroes near and far. We’ll have campers write letters to men and women in the service as well as local firefighters and police. Campers can then dress up as their favorite hero whether it’s a police officer or their parent! We’ll also be holding a toy drive all week long to show children the difference they can make and that they are all heroes too.
During our Summer Sendoff, we’ll enjoy a cozy PJ day as well as more water games to cool down.
