Special Needs Programs

 

The Connection is committed to providing opportunities for everyone. In addition to offering our own classes, we work in partnership with NJ Special Olympics, American Red Cross, Gateway and Our House, Inc. to provide a variety of programs for children and adults with special needs.

 Special Needs Fitness 

One-on-one exercise and fitness training for teens and adults with special needs.

Supervised by a certified trainer, it is based upon input and direction from the participant’s therapist. Evaluation and medical clearance are necessary. Call for an evaluation appointment. Contact 908-273-4242 ext. 151 or Click here to e-mail.

 

Our Partnerships:

 

Gateway is a non-profit organization that provides social and recreational activities for special needs children, ages 6-21 with mild disabilities. Staffed by special education teachers, graduate students and occupational and speech therapy graduate students.

Directors are Belle Bennett at 973-376-0676 and Carol Lampf at 973-635-8204.

Gateway reserves the right to determine child’s appropriateness to the program.

 

Adapted Aquatics ages 4-adult. Colonial Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross

co-sponsors a swimming program for individuals with physical, mental, emotional or neurological challenges. For more information, please contact Colonial Crossroads Red Cross, 908-273-2076 ext. 28. Volunteers are needed.

 

Club Oh!  Sponsored by Our House, these monthly Friday night dances for adults with special needs are held at The Connection throughout the year.
